Sushi hand roll, also known as Temaki Sushi, is made of a rolled cone of seaweed, wrapped around rice and fillings. Sushi hand roll is a meal where everyone helps themselves. You just need to prepare sushi rice, nori (seaweed sheet) and fillings such as sashimi-grade fish, and serve. At the table, each person makes own hand roll sushi based on their preference.
Cut the nori in half (lengthwise) and snip about an inch off thebottom. (keep these pieces
for belts used for some nigiri sushi such as egg.) On halfof the left side apply the sushi
rice as so. The top corner of the sushi rice shouldbe located at aboutone third of the
width from the left .
Place the ingredient on top of the sushi rice. Fold the nori as youwrap the ingredient with
the sushi rice.
Pull the other side of the nori, and tightly wrap the remaining around the sushi so it forms a
cone. The nori does not have to be sealed if eaten immediately.
